Updated: October 30, 2026. Compiled by Cole Ashby, updated monthly.

From October 1 through October 23, 2026, RIAA dated 60 hip-hop and R&B certifications: 11 Gold, 21 Platinum and 28 Multi-Platinum, five of those at Diamond. Fifty-one are singles and nine are albums. Drake owns the month with 30 plaques on October 23, four at Diamond, but the record worth sitting with is a 2002 Nas album cut that only now crossed Gold. My pick of the month is Chance the Rapper's two "Blessings," which closed out a decade of Coloring Book on the road.

Every entry links to its row in the RIAA Gold & Platinum database. Sections run newest first, each led by the artist's headline plaque.

Drake

Billboard reported 30 new certifications for Drake on October 23 and wrote that the haul made him the "first artist to surpass 350 million RIAA-certified units." The six shared with 21 Savage have their own section.

Methodology. Source: the RIAA Gold & Platinum database only (riaa.com/gold-platinum). This edition covers every certification RIAA dated October 1 through October 23, 2026 (the newest date in the database when this edition was compiled on October 30), that RIAA tags with a Rap/Hip Hop or R&B genre. Every row links to its RIAA entry. Dates are RIAA certification dates, and release dates are the ones RIAA lists. Thresholds per RIAA: Gold is 500,000 units, Platinum is 1 million, Multi-Platinum is 2 million and up, and Diamond is 10 million. Unit counts beyond RIAA's level are never estimated here. Certifications RIAA posts later with an October date join next month's edition. Compiled by Cole Ashby, updated monthly.
