Wiz Khalifa 'Cool' Album: Release Date, 'The Calm' and His 10K Projects Deal

The Calm single artwork as listed on Apple Music: Wiz Khalifa crouching in red sneakers

Wiz Khalifa's new album, Cool, is due Friday, November 13, and it's his first since signing with 10K Projects. Apple Music lists it for that date with 14 songs, two of them out now: "Yiccen" and the new single "The Calm." Variety reported the signing on October 22, and the label's own announcement put the album date on the record the same day.

The headline is the deal. The detail worth your time is the paper. Cool's copyright line on Apple reads "℗ 2026 Taylor Gang Ent., LLC," the same as both singles. My read: whatever the partnership covers, the name on the record is still Taylor Gang's.

The 10K Projects deal

Per Variety, the signing returns Wiz to the Warner Music Group family and reunites him with Marsha St. Hubert, his close friend and former project manager, "who is now co-president of 10K Projects." Variety reports he signed with Warner Records at 18 and with Atlantic Records four years later.

"It’s good to be home and back with my day 1, Marsha," he told Variety.

The 10K Projects announcement frames Cool the same way, saying the album "will drop on November 13th via his new partnership with 10K Projects." Variety also reported that he received 12 new RIAA certifications on Thursday, October 22, the day the deal went public.

Cool tracklist: what's out so far

Apple Music shows Cool as a 14-song preorder, with only two titles revealed.

The other 12 slots are still placeholders. On Spotify, "The Calm" single release carries both songs, and both Apple single pages (The Calm, Yiccen) carry the same Taylor Gang ℗ line as the album.

How the rollout has gone

"Yiccen" came first, on September 2, per Apple Music. "The Calm" followed on October 22, the same day Variety reported the deal, and the official audio went up on his YouTube channel just after midnight Eastern on October 23. That leaves three weeks between the second single and the album, with 12 titles still to come.

Who produced "The Calm"

Variety printed the full credit: "The new track was written by Wiz, Eric Dan, Kenneth Wright, Edward Murray, Mackenzie Stotts, and Jermal J Harper, and produced by Wiz, Dan, Wright, Sledgren, and Ricky P."

The songwriting side matches what Apple Music lists for the track: Cameron Jibril Thomaz, Edward Murray, Eric Dan, Jermal J Harper, Kenneth Wright and Mackenzie Stotts. Apple's public pages don't carry producer credits, so the five producers above come from Variety's report.

"Yiccen" has a smaller writing room on Apple: Brian Benjamin Brown, Cameron Jibril Thomaz, Edward Murray and Jordan Houston. Edward Murray is the one name besides Thomaz on both songs.

The album's producers, per the announcement

For the full record, the only producer list so far is the label's. The 10K Projects announcement says Cool was "made alongside his hometown producers including E.Dan, I.D Labs, Sledgren, Ricky P, Big Jerm, and Kenny Wright." Treat that as the label's billing until the album's credits post.

The hometown is Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh City Paper calls him a "Pittsburgh-bred rapper" and reports that he recorded at the city's I.D. Labs as young as 15, after founder Eric "E. Dan" Dan offered him an internship in exchange for free recording time. That same studio founder is on "The Calm" as a writer and a producer.

My take: that's the angle on Cool so far. A label move could have meant a new set of collaborators. On paper, this one runs the other way, back to the room where he started.

What's next

Cool lands one week after Lil Baby's FRESH, due November 6. We'll update this page when the full tracklist and album credits post. 10K Projects is also the label that signed Che in 2023, as we covered in May.

Until then, the two songs above are the whole public record of the album. "The Calm" is the one with E. Dan in the credits, so that's where I'd start.

Verdict: a homecoming deal on the label side and a hometown record on the credits side, with the copyright still in Taylor Gang's name. Start with: "The Calm".
