Don Toliver Marks Five Years of Life of a DON With Seven RIAA Plaques

By Odessa Vance, October 8, 2026

Five years to the day after Life of a DON, Don Toliver has seven new RIAA certifications. Every one of them comes from that album.

Life of a DON came out on October 8, 2021. The RIAA's Gold & Platinum database now lists the album and six of its songs with a certification date of October 8, 2026. Kurrco caught the timing Thursday evening and called it "the 5-year anniversary of 'Life of a DON.'"

Don Toliver: Life of a DON

Seven plaques, one album

Here's how the database reads. The album itself is Gold. "What You Need," "You (feat. Travis Scott)" and "Drugs N Hella Melodies (feat. Kali Uchis)" are Platinum. "Swangin' On Westheimer," "Flocky Flocky (feat. Travis Scott)" and "Way Bigger" are Gold.

No single hit is carrying this record. The plaques are spread across six songs and the album itself.

For Houston, the one that hits closest is "Swangin' On Westheimer." The Houston singer put a street from home in the title, and now it's a Gold record.

Same day, new Offset single

The anniversary wasn't his only news Thursday. Offset released "Every Night (feat. Don Toliver)," and Spotify dates it October 8. The FADER put it plainly: "Offset's new single 'Every Night' featuring Don Toliver is out now." HotNewHipHop lists it as a single from Offset's next album, GMFU, which Offset said on Instagram drops October 23.

My read: the plaques show what he built, and the feature shows who's still calling.
