What's out

Chastity Belt release All My Friends on Friday, November 6, 2026 via Suicide Squeeze Records. The Terrorbird release calls the band "a pillar of the Seattle rock community for 15 years" and the record their sixth album. Apple Music lists the same date, with a copyright line of "℗ 2026 Suicide Squeeze Records."

The lineup is Julia Shapiro (guitar/vocals), Lydia Lund (guitar/vocals), Hunter Truscott (bass/vocals) and Gretchen Grimm (drums/vocals), per the release. Preorders run through the band's smartlink.

The new single, "Friends for This"

On November 2, 2026, the band shared "Friends for This," the album's opener, on Suicide Squeeze Records' YouTube channel. Per the release, the song "came from Lund's experience returning home from living abroad," and "Grimm trades drums for lead guitar on this one."

Lund said in a statement: "I wrote the lyrics for this song right after moving back from England. It was a time where it felt sooo good to reconnect with my friends after spending the last two years away from Seattle. We had lots of sleepovers."

Where it was made

Per the release, All My Friends "comprises songs recorded across multiple years, time zones, and studios, including Seahorse Sound in LA, Way Out in Woodinville, and a centuries-old house on the Greek island of Hydra." The oldest track "dates back to around 2018," and the band now spans Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago.

They didn't set out to make a record about friendship. The release says longtime engineer Samur Khouja pointed out during mixing "that a lot of the songs referenced the subject."

"I got to spend my 20s and early 30s traveling the world with three of my best friends," Truscott said in a statement, "and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Friends and community are everything."

The tracklist

  1. Friends for This
  2. Designs
  3. To Decide
  4. I Could Say Less
  5. Not Today
  6. Be Kind
  7. Pavement
  8. Talk About
  9. Trash
  10. Hold My Own
  11. Live Laugh Love

The closer is "a wink at its predecessor," per the release, a nod to the band's 2024 album Live Laugh Love. The release calls "Pavement" an "Album stand-out." It came out on September 9, 2026 as part of the I Could Say Less / Pavement single.

My read

A band writing about friendship is an easy pitch. What makes this one land is that the release backs it with specifics: the Hydra house and an engineer who spotted the theme before the band did. For another Suicide Squeeze release this fall, read KAZI on Blackwater Holylight's "Spades" video, and for more indie, New Constellations' "Evergreen" video.

Verdict: All My Friends has a clear idea and a band that has lived it, and November 6 is when the songs have to carry it.
