Memphis artist Young Dolph pays homage to the Friday franchise in his new video for “Baby Joker.” The track, assisted by Memphis’ artist Key Glock, is named after an antagonist in the 2000 sequel Next Friday. The visual finds Dolph and Glock in Rancho Cucamonga as they attempt to shoot their shot with Joker’s sister.
Seems like a normal situation right? Nope! They shoot their shot while avoiding a potential beat down from antagonist Baby Joker. This portrayal of the popular Friday series antagonist is overweight and meant to bring comedic value to the character. Directed by Jordan Spencer, the video has a mid-2000s feel to it where it playfully parodies a classic film to fit the track.
The track itself is another example of why Dolph and Glock are one of the top duos in trap music currently. Brash production, confident lyrics about drug dealing, and an overall vibe of a cool summer day in the deep south. Adding a creative and hilarious concept to this video adds in an extra layer of southern appeal. To experience the southern draw, check out the video below.
