Worldisgualaa is a fire new musician from New Jersey. Moreover, he just put out his new single “Eye 4 Eye” last month, and fans can’t get enough. Linking up with Philadelphia artist LilMuk, “Eye 4 Eye” is an emotional piece following Worldisgualaa’s experiences and losses, specifically the passing of his older brother a few years ago and how the artist unearthed himself from that loss by reigniting his hustle. “This the one my supporters and my fans feel,” Worldisgualaa says of the track. “[LilMuk’s] fans and supporters too.”
Since the start of the pandemic, Worldisgualaa has been going harder than ever. He turned to music as a way of coping after losing both his brother and best friend and quitting college basketball. After finishing school, he officially began his music career, and began work on his first record back in April of 2020. Not long afterward, the new hip-hop, rap, and soul trap artist set off to make “YOU KNOW THE VIBES”, an 8-track EP released that summer. Worldisgualaa has continued to put his all into the craft that changed his life ever since (“It gives me sanity,” he notes), and he’s looking to impact anyone in the world who might be going through the same struggles he went through. Hence the name “Worldisgualaa”; “World” represents his family, and “Gualaa”, his nickname, comes from his drive to hustle and take care of others.
Worldisgualaa Knows The Ropes
That’s all laid out on the table in “Eye 4 Eye”, the vulnerable follow-up to his last single “Garden of Gualaa”. On that track, Worldisgualaa offers a transparent look into his life where he lets listeners know who he is and where he’s from. Born and raised in and around Trenton, New Jersey, Worldisgualaa is no stranger to making the most out of his circumstances. “As a young child, I saw a lot of things that a normal 8 to 9-year-old don’t see, like crimes, violence,” he reflects on his childhood. “But it definitely helped me grow faster and sharpen my mental.” From there, the turn to music became a no-brainer.
For the artist, picking up the pen is the best decision he has ever made, in more ways than one. Beyond it being a coping mechanism and outlet, Worldisgualaa simply loves music. “I love everything that comes with [music], down to the business,” he notes.
The passion, drive, and connection he has to his craft is why Worldisgualaa is one to watch, and fans and new listeners alike won’t want to miss anything the artist has coming next. But if “Eye 4 Eye” and its new visual say anything about his work, it’s clear that there’s a lot to look forward to.
