Griselda is having a fantastic year! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Griselda is a small label/collective based in Buffalo, New York. Their members are Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, and Benny the Butcher. Last month Benny the Butcher dropped an incredible EP, The Plugs I Met and now Westside Gunn is following up with his project, Flygod is an Awesome God. This project puts on display the artist at his best and is building hype for WWCD, the Griselda collaborative album dropping through Shady Records.
WSG get some high profile guests to join him. On the opening track, he doesn’t say a word, instead, his daughter, aptly known as Westside Pootie, and Wu-Tang’s Raekwon take over the mic. His family offers some assists, as Benny makes an appearance on Sensational Sherri and on “Pete Sake” alongside Conway. Conway is also featured on “Thousand Shot Mac” along with Hologram and Mayhem Lauren. On top of that, Madlib, fresh off of his collaborative project with Freddie Gibbs, joins WSG on the appropriately titled “Gunnlib.”
