In a partnership with Soundcloud, multi creative Pharrell helped put together a compilation album aiming to showcase upcoming talents. Artists were able to submit their music on Soundcloud for a chance to appear on i am OTHER, Volume 1. Selectees also received funding for their upcoming projects from Soundcloud’s creator accelerator initiative.
Releasing in July, the album features the track “Couch” from singer/songwriter NSTASIA and producer/engineer Devin “D*L*P” Parker. The contest received 8K submissions from artists narrowed down to 12 tracks.
“It was amazing to find out we were selected by Pharrell and KP to be a part of ‘i am OTHER’s’ compilation album, a true honor. In addition, I couldn’t be more happy than to launch my label, The Future Will Bang, with this special single release and to announce my partnership with SoundCloud,” – D*L*P explains.
“Being a part of this amazing compilation motivates me to continue allowing myself to show vulnerability through my music.
With the huge success of the song recently, NSTASIA x D*L*P have released the visual to “Couch” this month. The bohemian style video gives you a cozy, stay inside yet freeing feeling. Viewers watch NSTASIA go through different placements in the home, matching the chill vibe of the song. The burning sage, her lovely silhouette and the soft, calm vocals, offer an eye catching visual. Check out the video below and be on the look out for more from the artists!
