Today we had the opportunity to sit down with recording artist Giannis Loud and chat about his upbringing and musical journey. His creative edge is evident; entrepreneurship and growing his catalogue is at the forefront of his plans for brand expansion this year.
KAZI: GIANNIS, GREAT TO HAVE YOU ON HERE, TELL US WHERE YOU YOU CALL HOME!
GL: I’m originally from Rhodes, Greece, where I began my social media and music journey.
KAZI: SO WHEN DID THIS WHOLE MUSIC THING START?
GL: The idea came to me as I grew up and saw the culture and influence around me on things I liked and enjoyed, including artists inspired by the Greek and International Scene.
KAZI: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY YOUR FAVORITE RECORD YOU’VE MADE TO DATE IS?
GL: “Workin” was one of my first singles; “Workin” is one of my favourite and most known projects to date!
KAZI: TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE MAGIC THAT HAPPENS IN THE STUDIO, WHAT DOES YOUR WORKFLOW LOOK LIKE?
GL: It always starts with the idea that starts taking shape as you develop it. It’s really about doing the most you can at any given time to generate that sound and vision to its full potential. After that, it’s all about the more minor and more significant details you have to polish to showcase an exciting final product.
KAZI: HOW IS THE REALITY OF BEING AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST COMPARED TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF IT?
GL: It’s better and worse than what anyone might expect. You have more freedom to go about things, especially creatively wise. In my opinion, that’s also the tricky thing about it being independent and trying to break into the more significant markets.
KAZI: WHEN YOU’RE STARTING A NEW SONG, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE HARDEST PART?
GL: One of the biggest challenges I face is creating something with a fresh and new perspective every time while also trying to be the best at it. It can be challenging at times to a point where you question your skills, but the great ones can push through it and make something great!
KAZI: TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH EXPECTATIONS CAUSES A LOT OF ARTISTS ANXIETY, WHAT DO YOU STAY PEACEFUL WHEN THINGS GET STRESSFUL?
GL: Things like that occasionally happen, depending on how much you’re willing to put in work to see your project come to fruition. In those situations, you have to be relaxed and try to work your way out of a not working condition.
KAZI: IN ONE OR TWO SENTENCES, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TELL ASPIRING MUSICIANS?
GL: Get ready to work hard to be able to chase your dreams.
Stay consistent.
KAZI: WHAT ARE YOU MOST HAPPY ABOUT IN YOUR MUSIC CAREER?
GL: My latest singles are some of my best works as a producer and writer and showcase my progress over the last few years.
KAZI: WHEN IT’S NOT MUSIC, WHAT IS IT?
GL: I would be building my primary sneaker collection, which is worth more than 300k as of right now.
KAZI: WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE AWAY AFTER LISTENING TO YOUR WORK?
GL: That with hard work and persistence, anything is possible music-wise. You have to learn to embrace your flaws and use them to be a better you.
