MYB Scotty is rivaling Brent and Future in levels of toxic-ness
MYB Scotty’s latest single and video, “Toxic,” from his upcoming EP ‘Friday Night Lights.’ Released July 7th, the project has been receiving praise from his city and peers. Now Scotty has taken the next step in expressing more of his creativity by releasing the video to his leading single from the project. “Toxic” is cinematically appealing and pays homage to the film Love & Basketball.
The single samples Jennifer Lopez’s 1999 hit “If You Had My Love;” while still embodying its own feel and style for the record. At first, the track may seem like a melodic vibe, but Scotty can be caught dropping plenty of bars; about a love entanglement over some hard-hitting bass. The song provides a balance of R&B and Rap elements that can be heard by any audience.
Being from Baltimore, Maryland, MYB Scotty showcases versatility of the city; and should be mentioned among the elite names coming out the city. Newer visuals like “Toxic” are dope because no matter where you’re from or what generation, paying homage to timeless art is always welcomed.
Scotty aims to continue a trend sonically pleasing music and quality music videos with meaning.
