Hot Girl Summer Wins Thanks To Megan Thee Stallion’s New Visual

For those of us who aren’t ready to let go of summer so soon, no worries! The Houston Hottie looked out! Megan Thee Stallion extended summer for us all with the new video for “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj.

To capture the true essence of what a “Hot Girl Summer” looks like, the rappers tapped Munachi Osegbu, to direct the visual. Osegbu helmed Meg’s previous viral videos “Realer” and “Big Ole Freak.” If you’re trying to dance along to the twerk-filled video, RIP to your knees. That is, unless you have a lot of stamina or bones made of vibranium.

The new visual paints a portrait of what a real hot girl summer looks like. There’s a whole lot of neon green cowboy hats, mesh tops over bikini bottoms, and lots of leopard print–all fit for a raucous pool party. There are also many guest appearances throughout the video–alongside Nicki and Ty Dolla $ign are cameos from Rico Nasty, La La Anthony, Ari Lennox, Summer Walker and more.

During the making of the music video, LAPD nearly torpedoed the entire project, forcing “Hot Girl Summer” to chill out for a brief period of time. Sources say cops crashed Meg’s attempt to shoot her video in the Mount Olympus neighborhood of Los Angeles ( the heart of the Hollywood Hills). They allege that she didn’t have the proper permits for the big budget production. Law enforcement later mentioned that someone on the production team snitched to the cops, which explained how they became aware of the location in the first place. You know Megan had to rectify the situation for her Stallionaires. Meg and the production team improvised and were able to lock in another location about 50 miles East of L.A. in Chino Hills and wrapped up the final scenes the same night.

Back in June, she explained her interpretation of the “Hot Girl” concept to The Root. “It’s about women and men just being unapologetically them, just having a good ass time, hyping up your friends, doing you, not giving a damn what nobody got to say about it.” Of course, you have to also be the life of the party to really do the phrase justice.

Last month Megan revealed plans for her junior year at Texas Southern University. She also confirmed Hot Girl Summer is quickly approaching to become a Hot Nerd Fall. “Being a hot girl is like a lifestyle, and everyone knows I’m still in college,” she told Access Hollywood. “It’s gonna be a real hot girl semester, you know what I’m saying? Real Hot Nerd Fall, so I’m just about to start puttin’ on for all my school girls.”

The almost-perfect phrase coined by Houston-based rapper has undeniably become a full-on phenomenon. This summer heated 2019 up. If Hot Nerd Fall is going to be just as hot as Hot Girl Summer then we are more than ready!
