Lor Sosa Reps The DMV On “What It Was”

Lor Sosa, also known as Johnathan Griffin, is here. The 21-year-old Baltimore native with only a total of three songs out has managed to take the DMV area by storm. His music video for his latest song, “What It Was,” has been viewed over 700,000 times, and it’s only been out for one month. On his previous track, “Blink,” Sosa accumulated about 2.8 million views in total. Drill music, over time, has lost its originality due to its rise to mainstream consumption in 2016. However, Sosa’s lyrics and original flow create an overall refreshing and new sound.

There is an undeniable potential with Lor Sosa and thus far he has gone three for three. Most artists don’t see success in their first three songs, especially from a small market like Maryland. Baltimore has brought us rap stars in the last couple of years. Artists like Bandhunta Izzy, Shordie Shordie, and Young Don are the top names. Media personalities like Mr. Jay Hill and DJ Flow have done a great job of using their platform to spotlight top talent. Lor Sosa looks to use his budding skills to push towards success in the near future.
