Lil Bape Is Repping Hard For North Philly

Lil Bape, also known as Aysir Clark, is a 17-year-old rap/pop star reigning in from the streets of North Philadelphia. Lil Bape is most known for his breakthrough record “Never Thought”, which racked up over 100k views on Youtube. Describing his style as hip hop/pop, Lil Bape takes pride in his craft, having the ability to bounce from one genre to another. At the age of 15, Clark committed to taking his music seriously after having recorded a song he wrote in full for the very first time.

When it comes to his music and his career, Lil Bape already has major goals he plans to accomplish. He hopes to be able to help set his family and friends up to succeed on better paths for life as well as show the generations after him that there is more to aspire for in life than the circumstances they come from. Ultimately, he wants the world to know that he is more than a rapper, he is a well-rounded artist and enjoys going against the grain of what people may expect of him or from anyone of his age or demographic. When did you start doing music and when did you start taking it seriously?

Lil Bape: I started at the age of 15 just playing around with other family members who were doing music. I took it seriously when I went to the studio and actually cut a full song my first time. I didn’t think about music before that because I was into basketball.

Who is your motivation and why?

Lil Bape: My dad is my motivation. I saw him start from the bottom, never giving up and always going after what he wanted. Our bond motivates me to drive to succeed so that if and when I ever have kids it would be the same.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career?

Lil Bape: To set myself for life. Move my family out of Philly, get my homies out and set them and the others who have been around up to succeed as well so they don’t have to worry.

What would you like to do after music?

Lil Bape: I would like to start my own label, so another lane in music. I would also like to own some businesses to continue building cash flow.
