Kid Cudi Returns with ‘Leader of the Delinquents’

The man on the moon, Kid Cudi is back with “Leader of the Delinquents”. Allegedly, this is Kid Cudi‘s leading single from his seventh studio album, Entergalactic. The album was first announced in July of 2019. But Cudi’s release of this new single arrives exactly two years since his last solo single, “The Rage”. The last time Cudi released a project was back in June of 2018 with Kanye’s joint album, Kids See Ghosts which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Following the success of Kids See Ghosts, fans all around the world expected more music. We may be receiving it a little late, but boy are we glad it’s here.

Kid Cudi previewed the new track on his Instagram live the weekend before the release of the song. He confirmed the single’s title in a conversation with Jaden Smith during that same live stream. However, “Leader Of The Delinquents” had its original sneak peek at a performance at the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2012.

In this new track, he raps rebelliously about personal subjects such as his drug use and mental health. He speaks out about his inner layers in a way that brings us back to when he first started. Kid Cudi’s hardcore vocals reminisce of his earlier work. The melodic approach that his music took over the years has now regressed. This song steers him away from what became his most common style, bringing him back to his early musical roots. There is no official release date for when his new album Entergalactic will drop just yet, but we best get ready for what Cudder has in store for us.
