For a track titled “ISIS,” you’d think it would be far more divisive. However, the lyrical content is much more focused on Joyner Lucas’s personal struggle with ADHD. The single starts out with a computerized voice describing ADHD and is followed by Joyner speaking on his doubters. He continues to call out those who have criticized him throughout his life, from teachers who thought he’d never amount to anything to potential love interests that never called back.
Throughout the single, Joyner uses violent actions committed by the militant group ISIS to describe his dominance over both his haters and the rap game. The single ends with an appearance from former foe, Logic, who blesses the track with signature style rapid-fire flow.
