Pay attention because Newburgh, New York MC Jacques Laine has something to bring to the table. Jacques’ debut project Homecoming was a firm depiction of his trials and triumphs from life. So with the release of his highly anticipated EP Hottest Summer I didn’t really know what to expect from the bar-driven artist.
To my surprise, Hottest Summer is an authentic mesh of lyricism and melodies. That is a difficult task for rappers who aren’t autotune or trap dominant. Jacques Laine is sure to highlight elements of what a Summer in NY feels like. Songs like the single “Waist Time” capture it perfectly. You can stream the four song EP now on all platforms.

Jacques garnered a ton of attention after opening up for Dreamville’s own Cozz on his 16-city US tour. “It’s important to network, which I learned in college. You can put together as good a project as possible but if people aren’t hearing it then it can’t reach its fullest potential.”
The MC is currently working on his sophomore project Coldest Winter slated to release in late February.
