Afrofusion Artist Nova The Great

With his bouncy new single titled ‘PRECIOUS DIAMOND‘ featuring Toronto songstress Katasha J, Toronto-based alternative Afrofusion artist, NOVA kicks off 2021.

Who Is Nova The Great? 

Born in England to an American father and a Ghanaian mother, raised in Nigeria, and now living in Canada – the versatility is clear. The influence of these vivid and diverse cultures can be heard in the groundbreaking genre-bending sound of Nova.

Nova uses his dynamic voice, honest songwriting, irresistible melodies and lush soundscapes to produce thrilling music. His music sits in a special pocket offering the best of hip-hop, R&B, soul and afrobeats in a glorious fusion. Nonetheless, he has mastered the capturing of millennial love and relationship experience.

What A “Precious Diamond” … 

Nova’s brand new single comes as a successful follow up to his last single “Replay”. Released in the fall of 2020, the single was championed by the likes of Native Magazine, SingersRoom and Noctis Magazine. As a result, Nova continues to lean on the vulnerability he began to expose on “Replay”.

In addition, speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Precious Diamond’, NOVA says…

This track is about appreciating that special someone in your life. Katasha and I worked this song the first day we met, and it was like magic. I had already started writing the song. But, when we connected everything just came together organically. What’s more precious than diamonds? Well, I wish everyone who gets to hear this has the opportunity to experience a connection that makes diamonds just a complimentary gift to that truly special person”.


Last but not least, he longs for someone special to experience life’s special moments with. In particular, this time with the aid of Katasha J. The Canadian singer adds her sultry harmonies and delicate vocals, to the glorious affair. Produced by Toye Aru and engineered by Bankyondbeatz, “Precious Diamond” is an infectious R&B offering, with lush sensitivities of pop and afrofusion blended beautifully together.
