Exclusive Interview With Itzyoungjay

Where are you from?

  • I was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY and currently reside in Central NY.

When did you start making music?

  • 2009, exactly 4 years after my mom was in a near fatal car accident I had started making music to cope with my emotions and life situation.

Who inspires you the most?

  • Aside from my mother and my Noni, I would say my father inspires me the most…he never knew how to be a Dad and wasn’t around for most of my growing up but he always believed in my musical talent.

What got you into making music?

  • This may sound cliché and played out but Lil Wayne and Eminem (from 2000) inspired me to try making music. Back then I wasn’t as great but I have honed my skills over the past decade, so now I let my music speak for me.

Who is your favorite producer?

  • My favorite producer mainstream wise has to be Nick Mira.
  • My favorite independent producer is MB Beats (@1mbbeats) HANDS DOWN!🔥

What is one of your best songs/beats?

  • Personally it’s hard to choose I have a long catalog lol, I think my best song content/story/emotion wise is See You Again (Let You Go) off my album RARE.

Are you signed to a record or label?

  • I actually have an LLC, ITZYOUNGJAY | A L L C R E A T I O N. So I would say I have signed myself…at least for now.

Who would you most likely collaborate with if given the opportunity?

  • Selena Gomez, Lil Wayne, Tech N9ne, Clever, Post Malone, Juice WRLD & the real ones know I rock with the man SAMSON.🔥🥶

  • Ehoff, Ace Granby & Tommy Beane.

What’s next for you?

  • January 15, 2023 my new studio album “World On Fire” produced by MB Beats, AC Beats & Wyshmaster is set to test the waters for me with new music in the New Year. I also plan on filming a few music videos as well as a few live shows. I have some major news coming after the album drops so stay tuned for that!

What is your most popular track?

  • My most popular tracks right now on Spotify are Lose You To Love Me, Moonlight, Price To Pay, They Don’t Love You & PRAY.

What are some things you have been through in real life?

  • Honestly I’ve been through too much to elaborate on that topic right now. Just know that everything I have ever experienced throughout my life all gets put into my music, my words, and my pain. Every song is a piece of the puzzle to my soul and energy.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?

  • My biggest accomplishment? Is being alive long enough to see 27, and hopefully soon to see my mom happy and comfortable.💕
