DSmoke Releases a Visual for “Lil Red”

DSmoke, the winner of Netflix’s “Rhythm & Flow” competition series, has released a visual for “Lil Red” from his late October 2019 project Inglewood High.

It’s been nothing been great fortune for DSmoke, the hailing champ from Netflix’s hip-hop competition series Rhythm & Flow. From his social media activity, you can tell he’s not stopping anytime soon. Recently, the Inglewood MC has used Instagram to document stage performances with his brother SiR, studio time with DJ Khaled, and rubbing elbows with the likes of Dr. Dre and Lebron James.

While exciting to unfold before our eyes, DSmoke still puts a heavy focus on the music with his visuals. His latest video is for “Lil Red”, one of the most hypnotizing and compelling tracks from Inglewood High. At its surface, “Lil Red” follows a young black male navigating the crushing pressures of joining gang life while creating an identity separate from his current environment.

From early adolescence to adulthood, the character Lil Red is plagued with the color red—which symbolizes power thru violence— in his community. Such a powerful visual. Check it out below.
