To no surprise, some of the hottest talent is still being birthed from the south. In doing so, South Carolina-bred disc jockey, DJ Carolina X is the latest trailblazing talent to put the Carolinas back on the map.
At the young age of 16, DJ Carolina X leveraged his social network to break into the DJ scene. As he began performing, he also started showcasing his talents by hosting teen parties in the Columbia area. In early 2015 while still in Columbia, DJ Carolina X was picked up for radio by DJ Loui Vee and Tutu Durant for IHeartRadio. As a result, he’d eventually settle in Charlotte and broadcast from the Carolinas to Virginia and Tennessee!
He’s been the voice and vibes of the south for around seven years now and it shows! Breaking barriers and broadening his horizons, DJ Carolina X has received a large reach of spins and airplay. In fact, as far out west as Texas.
The Inspiration Behind Where It All Began…
Lil Jon was one of the hottest artists in hip-hop when the DJ was coming up. DJ Carolina X was intrigued by Lil Jon’s sound so he knew he wanted to make something similar. It was in that moment that he fell in love with the art of DJ’ing. As a result, Carolina X was inspired and introduced to multiple genres by the likes of artists such as: Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Linkin Park, Nas, and Michael Jackson.
“They pretty much shaped the way I view music as a whole,” he said. “…it comes down to lyricism, storytelling and production.”
Pushing forward in his passion, Carolina X eventually began working with heavyweight hip-hop stars and mainstream moguls. In fact, he’s performed on stage with Lil Baby, Future, DaBaby, Nicki Minaj, Latto, A Tribe Called Quest, 21 Savage, amongst many others. Additionally, his most proud collaboration comes as his track with his brother, Zay The Goat. Following their 2021 nationwide tour, Carolina X is convinced that his brother is on the verge of his breakthrough!

Recently, DJ Carolina X produced and released his trendy track titled “Fast Lane”. In addition to the latest offering, it comes as a collaboration with NFL NIQUE, in which the DJ is excited about its potential.
