The Bay Area has seen plenty of emerging artists take off this past year. From the looks of it, there are no signs of letting up. City P is a talented rapper with eccentric hooks and memorable verses. He’s been carving his own lane for quite some time, but “1-Time” might just be his breakout hit. It features Lil Kayla, who takes on the latter verse, as well as additional vocals from Tai and GizzMacc.
“1-Time” arrives on the heels of City P’s “ThotLine 2.0” video, which is doing well on streaming platforms. However, the Vivid Vizion-directed visual is one for all the classy, independent women out there. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from this latest record, City P and Lil Kayla make for a good duo.
Most recently, Lil Kayla saw a rise to fame with her “Make His Pockets Hurt” recording reaching viral acclaim on TikTok. With over 200K clips in rotation, Kayla is looking like the next artist to sign a million-dollar deal off the social media platform. Moreover, “Back On That Shit” is seemingly following right behind.
