NYC-bred creative, Charizard, became involved in the city’s underground scene at a young age. In doing so, he attended various parties and concerts while dabbling in photography on the side. Now based in Los Angeles, the young producer is ecstatic to be creating music and collaborating with some of Hip-hottest Hop’s (and future) stars. Charizard says there is a slight difference in the music scenes of the two cities. When speaking on the two musical hubs’ influences, Charizard goes on to say:
“The industry for the most part is out here, most of the labels are out here. New York’s music [scene] is more of a culture thing. Like you’re trying to only be famous in New York. But when you come out to LA, you’re trying to have more like a worldwide, commercial career.”
For most of us, the pandemic provided ample opportunity to reflect on various issues, including a career change. Charizard went from social media executive to artist/producer. In addition to joining the team at Bighead Music Group, a LA-based label that not only houses artists but also producers. As a co-producer with Alex Loyalty, he has already worked on a few songs, including the Kodak Black-assisted track “Swap for a Swap” by Swifty Blue & Bighead. While Charizard prepares to release new music, listen to his most recent mixtape, Trashzard VV1, which was released earlier this year.
