IT’S BANGIN BODY BARDI BREAKING RECORDS AND HISTORY AGAIN!
Cardi B has arguably become a household name, as evidenced by her hosting of the 2021 American Music Awards on Sunday. After dominating the stage in ten different looks and her looks all kill ; a week after receiving another Grammy nomination, the “UP” femcee has reached another milestone! It was announced by the Recording Industry Association of America on Monday that breaking records Bardi has become the first female rapper to go diamond with not one but two Diamond-certified singles.

In fact, earlier this year, Cardi B became the first-ever female rapper to have a song achieve Diamond certification. Thanks to her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow.” Then, the Bronx native’s 2018 Maroon 5 collab “Girls Like You” has surpassed 10 million sales in the U.S. market. Which means the record is officially certified diamond by the RIAA.
Cardi B Says Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend
“Girls Like You,” from Maroon 5’s sixth studio album Red Pill Blues, topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. In addition to being nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. To celebrate after seeing the news, the rapper showed her appreciation on Twitter while also firing off some well-deserved flexes. In a tweet she wrote: “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”.

Additionally, she thanked Maroon 5 for enlisting her to deliver a verse on the song.

Also a fan instructed that Cardi update her Twitter bio to reflect the new certifications, and the BX rhymer did just that. Instead of simply writing her accomplishment in her bio, the rapper changed her Twitter header to a photo of Penn Badgley from You with two diamond emojis over his eyes.

Cardi continues to make waves in a field dominated by men, paving the way for more women to enter mainstream markets. As a result, Cardi B of course landed another nomination for Best Rap Performance at the 2022 Grammys for her trendy track “Up”. If she takes home this win, it’s really UP! It will be her second Grammy, following her win for Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy in 2019.
