Sean Ferres (BIGMOO) is a 24 year old Brisbane-based DJ/Producer on a mission to inspire and motivate the world to work harder, play harder and of course, dance harder! But it wasn’t always this way…
The kid that hated music: with ambitions of building fast cars and rockets as a young nerdy kid, Sean Ferres couldn’t stand the “boring and repetitive” pop music on the radio and would often beg his mum to turn it off.
It wasn’t until he was twelve that a local Brisbane radio station would play a glitchy electric club beat by Deadmau5 and ultimately change the trajectory of Sean’s life forever. After racing home to jump down the YouTube rabbit hole, he was hooked. He fell in love with electronic dance music and would never look back.
Ferres ironically ended up dropping his prestigious mechanical engineering degree to pursue a career in the very field he used to loathe. Fast forward seven years to 2022, BIGMOO recently celebrated twelve million Spotify streams as well as the release of his dance collaboration ‘Lethal’ with Adrian Fyrla and legendary gold-selling artist Klaas.
His collaborations with Luca Testa, Raven & Kreyn, Fatman Scoop and Titus on Spinnin/ Maxximize/ Hysteria also received a tonne of support from top DJs including Tiesto, Afrojack, R3hab, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, KSHMR, W&W, Showtek, Nicky Romero, Timmy Trumpet and Blasterjaxx.
“The Afterlife” remixes from Olly James and Exis also garnered support from DJs worldwide, and the Exis remix was played at ASOT 950 in Utrecht, the biggest indoor trance festival in the world. Both remixes, as well as the original, hit #1 on the Apple Music hardcore/ hard dance charts in 8 countries and top 10 in 18 countries.
His self-released collaborations with entrepreneurial influencers Jason Capital, Elliott Hulse, Joel Brown and Bedros Keuillian were also very well received by his fans, clocking millions of streams for his ‘Big Mood Records’ imprint.
With shows at the Ultra Europe Boat Party and Beachville stage, Synergy Summer Festival (NL), Family Nightclub (BNE), Brisbane City Hall, and an appearance on the UMF Radio stage in Croatia, the future is looking bright!
