International crooner Benny Bizzie has been busy! In fact, the multifaceted R&B singer-songwriter and producer, returns with the release of his Chrysalis EP. Penned and composed by the UMA-nominated musician himself, the EP sees Benny reuniting with long-time collaborator and acclaimed UK producer Cee Figz. Figz has also previously worked with Popcaan, Wretch 32, Tion Wayne, and Fredo to name a few.
As a result, Benny taps Figz to bring the 7-track project to life. As well as additional production from Simon Brown, and live instrumentation from musician Darren Franklin (Lola Young, Jermaine Jackman). The Chrysalis EP, backed by the MOBO Awards and Help Musicians, is filled with well-crafted love songs and glorious R&B bangers. It beautifully infuses with hip-hop, soul, and indie sensibilities too.
Chrysalis opens up with the vulnerable track, “Drunk N Naked” followed up by the R&B-rap fusion track “Window Frame”. Benny delves deeper into its themes of love and relationships with records like “On The Double” and “Forever” which reflect on finding new love. Meeting in the middle, Benny brings the summer-ready single, “Signals” before closing out with the defiant “Player” track paired with the empowering “Power In The Pain,” which sees Benny calling for listeners to choose themselves.

When speaking on the inspiration behind Chrysalis, Benny Bizzie goes on to say:
“The EP is about love, growth, and empowerment. Somewhere along the way in my life, I forgot who I was, and I lost myself, but I am getting it back one day at a time. ‘Chrysalis’ is me breaking free from the caterpillar stage, and becoming a butterfly, where we spread our wings and fly. This EP shows my growth over the years, and I created it so that others see that they are not alone in their early life stages of figuring things out, and going through their own growing pains. We’ve all had to start somewhere as is the nature of life”.
In regards to this trailblazing talent, Benny Bizzie, who was born in Tottenham, North London, to Nigerian parents, began his musical journey as a songwriter and aspiring artist before discovering his passion in singing R&B songs. He often uses music as a therapeutic outlet. His distinct blend of the british foundation and singing ability led to collaborations with Brit legends such as Skepta, JME, and Meridian Dan. As well as some of the UK’s finest producers such as P2J (Dave, Wizkid, Snoh Aalegra) and ZDOT (Stormzy, Cardi B). Throughout his booming career, Benny has received support from some of UK’s biggest platforms such as: BBC 1Xtra, KISS FM, GRM Daily, and Channel AKA.
Following a five-year hiatus, Benny Bizzie brought back more music for fans with his glorious 2019 EP, E-Motion. In a short span of its release, it quickly garnered over 1 million plays online and counting! Although the pandemic briefly halted his triumphant re-introduction to the UK music scene, he bounced back in 2021. In doing so, he released five singles to rave reviews from fans and critics.
Shortly after, Benny took 2022 by storm by going viral on TikTok with the lead single “Drunk N Naked” to announce the arrival of his new EP, Chrysalis. Now after two more drop offs, the North London native is excited to unveil the 7-track Chrysalis EP.
