Audrey Nuna Shines On New Single ‘Damn Right.’

Going from regular college student to setting the precedent for being one of the first Korean-American acts to break into mainstream culture is no small feat. Audrey Nuna is a pioneer in her own right, consistently delivering genre-bending, fresh, and quirky music that seems true to her self. This year seems to feel like a winning streak for the rising R&B vocalist and rapper as each buzz-worthy single she creates pushes her further into the spotlight.

Her diverse musical background and edgy aesthetic have landed her features in Pigeons & Planes as Best New Artists as well as a spot in the coveted Dazed100 list. Showing no signs of stopping, the 21-year-old rising star returns with her latest single ‘Damn Right’ with accompanying music video via Arista Records.

The hypnotic new track follows “Long Night,” “Comic Sans” ft. Louisville rapper,
Jack Harlow. This release is the first installment from her highly anticipated forthcoming EP set to debut later this fall.

‘Damn Right’ is a fun and catchy single poking fun at all of the judgmental people and dedicated haters. “It’s satire.” Audrey states. “I wrote this song about how much people love to talk shit. I find it amusing when people spend time talking shit about people who don’t even know they exist. It’s a funny aspect of human nature.”

The visual for the single gives off 80s horror film vibes. Audrey Nuna prances around an abandoned house filled with old trophies, wooden walls, and signature yellow wall paper. It feels as if she isolated in a purgatory-like setting that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Directed by a friend of the rapper, Loris Russier, the two aimed to make the visual a direct reflection of the songs message.”We wanted it to be a literal translation of the lyrics and the treatment evolved from there. It was my first-time bathing in milk, and I had such a great time styling the fits. Nuna explains.
