Former Minus Gravity member, Apollo Liberace, takes on a new journey as a solo artist with the release of his single, “Lost My Love For Rap.” The track will be dropping 2/17 off of forthcoming self-titled LP “Apollo Liberace”, releasing on his birthday 2/27.
Apollo Liberace, was born February 27th, in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Starting his music journey in the South, Apollo’s style merges Rock, R&B, and Hip Hop from across the US. He began early, moving from church choirs and youth camps to night clubs and bigger venues.
His exceptional performance and total commitment to music sets him apart as an artist. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, hip-hop artist, and audio engineer. He takes full control when creating in the studio.
Apollo’s journey within the music industry, from being signed to a group, leaving the group, and finding his way, is depicted in “Lost My Love For Rap.” Additionally, he expresses his thoughts on the perpetuation of violence and hate in rap music.
According to Apollo, “This song represents the moods and emotions I experienced during a critical moment in my life, after signing with a major record label and being subject to business models that control young artists.” He aims to remain loyal to his creative process and passion for music, free from the pressures of music politics.
With this song being a part of the album, Apollo looks forward to showcasing his unique ability to merge melodic sounds with social commentary rap lyrics. He chose to address issues such as drugs, violence, systemic racism, and greed, urging people to prioritize values beyond materialism.
