AdeJosh Arrives With ‘All For Me’ EP

British-Nigerian musician, AdeJosh is thrilled to release his long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore EP titled ALL FOR ME! His return comes a little over five years after bursting onto the UK music scene with his debut EP Confident which has garnered hundreds of thousands of streams online and has cemented his place on the global afrobeats scene.

His fresh new 4-track project courtesy of ONErpm, reunites AdeJosh with long-time collaborator and producer ATG Musick, who has also worked with Not3s, Ms. Banks, IAMDDB, Darkoo, and Kelly Rowland, among others. Having collaborated on AdeJosh’s debut EP at the start of his career, this new EP, All For Me is a true full-circle moment for the rising star and his producer ATG Musick. The undeniable chemistry between them that birthed such cult classics as “Correlate” and “Confam It” – reveals itself in full display all over this new project. In fact, his sophomore EP also shows AdeJosh returning to the beginning in another full-circle moment, as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery and truly understanding his self-value.

When reflecting on the inspiration behind All For Me, AdeJosh goes on to say:

“The EP was inspired by a series of events that led me on a path of self-discovery and truly understanding my value. For me to know what I want ‘All For Me’, I had to know my heart’s desires and what I deserve. I have grown to be more self-aware and understand my true value and worth as a person. The passion behind my music is giving my listeners the music that their souls can connect to; I want to use my music to translate and express emotions and take people through the journeys of life that we all encounter”.

ALL FOR ME EP TRACKLIST

1. Intro

3. Chargie

4. All For Me

The project opens up with the confidently and appropriately titled track, “Intro” with AdeJosh in summer lover boy mode as he croons about “gyal dem season,” highlighting his glorious flow and smooth vocal delivery. Next up, we have the infectious drums-heavy “My Own” record which reveals a more self-aware AdeJosh, who understands the need to be alone from time to time. On his chivalry isn’t dead track, “Chargie”, he cleverly juxtaposes that position with a classic boy-meets-girl story as he confesses his love for his “chargie”. Then on the bouncy title track, “All For Me”, Adesosh puts his best foot forward for his leading lady.

Overall, AdeJosh is a rising star, with over five million global streams and support from BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Wireless, AfroNation, and Amazon’s Plus44. This multifaceted musician began his musical career in his local church, where he developed a taste for timeless music for the soul. As a result, his sound and musical direction is shaped by his East London upbringing and Nigerian heritage. He masterfully blends UK afroswing, dancehall, afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B. AdeJosh Chops It Up With KAZI Magazine

  • Hey Adejosh! Thank you so much for taking the time to chop it up with KAZI Magazine! Before we jump in to talk about your debut EP, your artistry and more — let’s bring it back to the beginning. Who is Adejosh and where did it all begin?

AdeJosh is a mixed breed of two cultures. Ade (my Nigerian heritage) Josh (I was born and raised in the UK), and I put both these major influences into my music. The love, passion and understanding for music all began in the church at a very young age, I’ve always been drawn to melodic sounds.

  • How did you come to realize that music was the way forward for you?

For many years I actually ran away from music with a disbelief that it wasn’t possible for someone like me to make a living from music. I knew music was the way forward when I went around in circles trying to make a living, however coming to the realization that all I know and can do is music, it’s where my heart, mind and passion reside.

  • How would you describe your musical sound and style?

My style & sound is unique. A perfect blend of cultures giving a sensational smooth sound. I believe my sound represents power because my talent has been moulded for many years from nothing to something. My sound reminds me that it’s possible to be unstoppable and you can become anything you put your mind to.

  • As your project reflects elements from UK Afroswing, Dancehall, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop and R&B; who would you credit as some of your musical influences?

Life is my influence, there’re so many great artists in the world. Burna, Wizkid, Rema, Capella Grey and I like to absorb greatness to make great music. But with this project.. this is me & my emotion vs music.

  • Next, now that you’ve arrived with your Sophomore EP — which project is your favorite to date & why?

All For Me is my favourite project to-date. Because I really poured out my truth. It connects to me more because this is me in my current stage of my journey.

  • Also, as the artist yourself, how would you say the two differ?

As an artist, I’m learning how to live my truth through music and to really get inspiration from my personal experience. The two don’t differ but are slowly becoming one.

  • Out of the 4 solid tracks, which is a personal favorite overall & why?

Out of the 4 tracks.. I personally connect with “Chargie”. But, the title track “All For Me” is all of me, with the melodies and smoothness, everything screams AdeJosh.

  • Overall, how long did it take to curate the EP?

Less than a month. Me and my brother ATGMusick locked in in the studio with back to back sessions creating like 40 songs, we filtered down to 4 tracks.

  • How do you feel about the UK sound and its influence on recent hip-hop and R&B?

The UK sound as a whole is growing. I feel like the whole world is taking in Afrobeats, which is beautiful. Great music will always stand the test of time.

  • Furthermore, excited to hear more about you and your artistry, what’s next for Adejosh?

That’s my reason why I decided to keep my EP as four tracks, short and sweet. Leaving my supporters excited on the mystery of what’s to happen next, and all I can say is greatness is what’s next.

  • Lastly, is there a message you’d like to leave with fans?

Be the best you, focus on greatness & what you invest your energy into. One day we are all going to be asked about what we did with this gift called ‘time’. If our time called ‘present’ is a present, you can’t afford to waste time being angry, unproductive, unhappy, scared etc. Focus on being the best you, and on greatness, that’s how you fulfil your purpose.

  • Thank you for your time and can’t wait to hear more from you!

Thank you, Kazi Magazine, for giving me the opportunity. Much love!
