Will Linley Releases New EP Could This Be Forever? on Island Records
Will Linley, the 25-year-old South African singer-songwriter, released his new EP Could This Be Forever? on October 30 via Island Records. Apple Music lists the EP at five tracks and just under 15 minutes. The label's release says the set sits "in a sweet spot between anthemically hummable pop and vital indie alternative," and that it was led by the single "Think Twice." The label adds that the collection shows him as "both a powerhouse vocalist and eloquently vulnerable songwriter."
Inside the EP
Three of the five songs were out before release day. "I Loved, I Lost" arrived June 12, "Head First" on July 24 and "Think Twice" on September 25, according to Apple. The two new songs are "Life of the Party" and the closer "What If It Happens."
On "Life of the Party," the release says, Linley "marvels at his romantic fortunes with a smile on the refrain, 'Can't believe that the life of the party keeps coming home with me!'" The label describes "What If It Happens" as a song that "paints a big screen-worthy portrait of love built to last (even through the apocalypse!)."
According to the release, the project finds Linley "reconnecting with the joy and intuition that first drew him to making music," with songs "written in Airbnbs and friends' studios around the world."
Where it fits
Linley was born in Cape Town. The release lists two earlier EPs, kill all my feelings from 2022 and magic from 2023. His full-length debut, Don't Cry Because It's Over, came out on Island on September 5, 2025, per Apple Music, so the new EP lands a little under 14 months later. The label adds that he has supported OneRepublic on tour and played festivals including Lollapalooza, Barn On The Farm and Rocking The Daisies.
