A song about change, not a sad one

Tabor describes the single in the release: "It's a song about moving forward and accepting the changes that come with life. Sometimes that means leaving people you love, seeing them less, moving away, or simply growing in different directions."

He says he did not want it to land as a sad song. "I wanted it to be a fun, catchy song you can dance to because I don't look at this as a sad song, even though it could seem like that on the surface. Change is constant and inevitable," Tabor says in the release.

Apple Music credits the song's writing to Samuel Tabor and lists it at 3:31.

Inside the "How Life Goes" video

According to the release, the clip shows Tabor "on the move alongside his canine friends Mocha and Winnie" and "captures the sentiment that life's inevitable shifts can be something light-hearted and catchy." The release says the video "mirrors that movement, following Tabor as he rides through a series of changing landscapes."

The YouTube description closes with a dedication: "In memory of Oswald."

"Coffee," "Can I?" and "Bleed Me Dry"

The release places the song in a run of personal singles. It names "Can I?," released October 17, 2025, and "Coffee," released March 17, 2026, as tracks "written entirely by Tabor and produced by Austin Jones in Lexington, KY."

Before this, Tabor released "Bleed Me Dry" as a single on August 28, 2026. Its video followed on October 16, 2026, and the release calls it "a darkly comedic vampire story made with fellow YouTuber Chad Chad." Chad Chad's channel shows 3.15 million subscribers. The release describes "Bleed Me Dry" as Tabor's "first co-produced track alongside Micah Tawlks," and Apple Music lists Micah Tawlks and Samuel Tabor as its writers.

In an October 2026 piece, GRRRL Music reported that Tabor is based in Louisville and working on an album. No title or date for it has been announced.

From comedy channel to songwriter

Tabor built his audience first as a comedy and gaming creator. His main YouTube channel shows 1.6 million subscribers, and the release says he has "a devoted fanbase built over years as a comedy and gaming content creator."

The release says Tabor was "Raised in a musical family in Louisville, KY" and picked up his first guitar at eight years old, "inspired by his mother's voice and his older brother's love of rock." It says he first shared his music with his audience in 2017 with the single "Bones," followed by his debut EP, About Time, in 2018. Amazon Music lists About Time with a December 1, 2018 release date and "Bones" as track four.

His catalog since then includes the 2025 album I Hope They Set You Free, released June 20, 2025. The release describes his current direction as "an indie rock and alternative pop sound defined by big melodies and unflinching honesty."
