Rex Orange County has released Dream Fatigue, a twelve-song album co-executive produced by Mustafa and Dylan Wiggins. Out November 6, the record includes contributions from Brendan Yates, Daniel Caesar, Dev Hynes, dexter in the newsagent and Taylor Skye.

The album follows the singles "Hannah Montana," "Grandma Song," "Indecision" and "Iron Man." The latter received a COLORS performance immediately before the full record arrived.

Letting collaborators in

The announcement presents Dream Fatigue as a shift from Rex's historically solitary way of making records toward a more collaborative process. It describes songs taking shape during travel, often beginning on guitar rather than being constructed entirely inside a studio.

"The more minds in the room making decisions? That equaled confusion for me," Rex says in the release, recalling his earlier approach. Of the change, he adds: "To let people in is to let them take the thing out of you as well."

Brendan Yates plays drums and sings on "Elvis," which the two artists performed together at London's Village Underground in August. A Yates-directed video for the song is due Monday, November 9; it is not part of the release-day video offering.

Daniel Caesar appears on "Indecision," while Mustafa features on "The Colosseum." The tracklist opens with "Penelope" and also includes "Handsome," "Boyfriend," "Empty Stage" and "Roleplay," before closing with the title track.

A record made on the move

The announcement links the album's title to a protagonist trying on different personas in pursuit of a relationship. Song titles such as "Hannah Montana," "Iron Man" and "Elvis" sit inside that framing, rather than being presented simply as autobiographical diary entries.

Rex has also been performing intimate shows in fans' homes across the UK, Ireland, Asia and Europe, with audiences selecting personalized setlists. The release says those appearances have continued through the album's arrival.

Dream Fatigue is available now, with the "Elvis" video still to come after the weekend.
