Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Ariana Grande Control Spotify’s Top 20 Female Artists

Cheers’s to the woman of the world, as we celebrate International Woman Day across the globe. Beyonce once asked, “Who Runs The World?” we all replied “Girls” with nothing short of confidence and resilience. Earlier today Spotify dropped a playlist enlisting the females dominating the music industry as we speak. These ladies have proved nothing but excellence in their craft while making chart-topping music & breaking barriers so other women can follow in their footsteps.

Ariana Grande comes as no surprise to be sitting at the tops of both charts, as she is currently dominating the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with 8 entries, To put the popularity in perspective, Grande has 56 million monthly listeners, while Drake follows with a little over 42 million. Holding down the 2nd & 3rd spot are Billie Eilish, Halsey, while recent Grammy winner Cardi B comes in the number 4 spot. Leaving Taylor Swift to round out the Top 5 Us Woman in the US Music industry. Nicki Minaj comes in the number 6 spot despite her impressive 32 million listeners outranking Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift & Nearly beating Cardi B’s 33 million listeners. Check out the full list below, which serves as a barometer of today’s most popular leading ladies.

The fact that Nicki’s last major singles “Chu-Li” & “Good Form”, dropped in the middle of last year fresh from her latest album “Queen” that dropped in August of 2018, proves that Nicki is not planning on leaving the game just yet. Both Halsey, Cardi, and Eilish appear to be hitting their stride, despite being newcomers to the game. There’s also a big look for Kehlani, who sits comfortably inside the top ten, at least in the U.S. The worldwide numbers play out a little differently ultimately with the same major players still on the list.
