MICO, Presley Haile and Olivia Rodrigo Start the Holiday Season

MICO, Presley Haile and Olivia Rodrigo have released new holiday music, with each taking a different route into the season. This week's announcements range from two new songs to a five-track EP of standards and an original, plus Rodrigo's first Christmas single.
MICO: When the (Christmas) lights turn on
The 23-year-old Filipino-Canadian artist has released When the (Christmas) lights turn on, a two-song companion in name to his debut album. It contains "A little love" and "Season for leaving."
The announcement describes "A little love" as a softer, acoustic-driven reminder of kindness and compassion. "Season for leaving" addresses a relationship falling apart during the holidays, balancing seasonal imagery against the possibility of a goodbye.
The release follows June's When the lights turn on and its October deluxe edition. MICO's next announced tour, the IN:BETWEEN TOUR, begins in January 2027 across Europe, the UK and the United States.
Presley Haile: Merry Christmas Y'all
Haile's five-track EP combines four familiar Christmas songs with her own "Corpus Christi Christmas." The standards are "White Christmas," "Pretty Paper," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Christmas Song."
She says in the announcement that she hopes the songs recall "simpler times, familiar faces, and cozy nights spent with the ones you love." The original sits in the middle of the tracklist, between the first two standards and the closing pair.
Olivia Rodrigo: take me home (4 christmas)
Rodrigo has released "take me home (4 christmas)", written with Dan Nigro and Amy Allen and produced by Nigro. The November 6 announcement identifies it as her first Christmas single.
Its official video features Cynthia Nixon and Ben Marshall alongside Rodrigo. The premise centers on returning home for the holidays and meeting a partner's family for the first time, pairing seasonal excitement with the awkwardness of a new introduction.
Together, the three releases make room for reassurance, heartbreak, nostalgia and uncomfortable family introductions rather than treating the holidays as one uncomplicated mood.
