Heavy Music Update: The Funeral Portrait, thrown, Resolve and More

This week's heavy music announcements bring new studio songs, a full-length release, live recordings and expanded albums. Here is the release news from eight acts, with upcoming projects distinguished from music already available.
The Funeral Portrait and Showing Teeth
The Funeral Portrait have released "My Future Prediction", with a lyric video available now and a separate official video due next week. Vocalist Lee Jennings describes the song in the announcement as a relationship story about ignoring warning signs and falling for an imagined future.
Showing Teeth has released "Hellraiser" with an official video. The artist links the song to anger at her upbringing and says horror drag informed the video's contrast between beauty and gore. It follows the debut EP A Fate Worse Than Loneliness.
thrown and Resolve
Sweden's thrown have released UNWANTED, their ten-track second album. The record follows EXCESSIVE GUILT and includes the advance singles "split," "rehearsed," "critic" and "unwanted." The announcement places depression, self-doubt and inner conflict among its lyrical themes.
France's Resolve have shared "Mind Awake, Body Asleep," the third single from Spread My Ashes Into Space, due January 15. Vocalist Anthony Diliberto connects the song to his experience of sleep paralysis and the difficulty of distinguishing nightmares from reality.
Laura Cox and Finger Eleven
Laura Cox has released a live version of "Hard Blues Shot," recorded at Le Trianon in Paris on April 10. It previews Trouble Coming To Paris: Live At Le Trianon, which will include a complete concert film in its CD and Blu-ray edition.
Finger Eleven's Last Night On Earth deluxe edition is out now, arriving on the original album's first anniversary. It includes "One Thing (Acoustic Live at B Town Sound)," along with live recordings, demos and an instrumental version of the title track.
Sabaton and Convictions
Sabaton have announced Legends (Deluxe) for March 5, 2027, sharing "Berserker" and its lyric video now. The separate official video, featuring Eric Roberts, is due November 9. The expanded record includes new songs and several physical configurations.
Convictions have signed to UNFD and released "Atonement," their first song with the label, alongside a video. The Ohio band describe it as taking ownership of their journey and accepting the sacrifices involved in following their purpose.
