FILLY and The Stylist Party Like It's 2002 on "Kate S.O.S."

"Kate S.O.S." featuring The Stylist is out now, the new single from "Vienna-based singer, DJ, and producer FILLY," per Interscope's release. The label calls it a "new pop-electronic anthem" that "channels early-2000s fashion fantasy," with "nods to Kate Moss, Vogue, and nights out like it's 2002."

I like a single that tells you the year it wants to live in. This one picks 2002 and commits.

How the song came together

FILLY's own account of the song is a little travel diary. "'Kate S.O.S' started in LA at the American Cement Building, a brutalist concrete space that was basically the perfect setting for a slightly unhinged club song," she says in the release. She started it with Alli Logout ("1/2 of DeBasement") and UHD, kept going with atlgrandma and Jesse St. John, and "finally brought it home to Vienna, where my friend inner tongue and I finished it."

"The song is all about 2000s fashion, club chaos, and the fantasy of partying with Kate Moss for a night," she says. On bringing in The Stylist, her friends' project: "because honestly, what could be more iconic?"

Then she sets the tone herself: "It's all very tongue-in-cheek :P think fashion, a little french, and absolutely no plans to go home. Now put us on the guestlist!" In my view, an artist who puts an emoticon in her own press quote is telling you how seriously to take the party, and I mean that as a compliment.

Where FILLY is coming from

The single follows her April EP, Music So Loud I Can't Hear A Thing, per the release, which describes her as "known for blending hyperpop gloss with European dance pulses." Her label bio calls her sound "high-gloss, dance-inflected hyperpop."

She broke out in 2022 with "Motorola," the bio says, then put out her debut album Watching Strangers Smile in 2023 and the 2024 EP Cowgirl In A Cowboy World before signing with slowplay, Interscope and Bamboo Artists in 2025. Apple Music carries "Kate S.O.S." under a slowplay and Bamboo Artists ℗ line, licensed to Interscope Records, and dates Watching Strangers Smile to April 21, 2023.

The bio also says a sophomore studio album is coming, with no date given.

On the road

Per the release, FILLY played Lollapalooza Berlin in summer 2026 and will support SOPHIE & THE GIANTS on "five dates of their November European tour." The release doesn't list the cities.

For a song built for a night out, that support run feels like the right stage for it, at least on paper.

Odessa Vance called it first: FILLY, October 30, 2026. Run back 'Kate S.O.S.'
