Ecco2k released "Sky Burial" on November 3, 2026, with a video he directed and edited himself. Produced by Whitearmor, it is the second of two new solo singles from the Swedish artist, after "Aldehydes and Ketones" on October 22, 2026. Apple Music now lists the two songs together as Aldehydes and Ketones / Sky Burial. There, "Sky Burial" runs 3:28 and "Aldehydes and Ketones" runs 4:02, and both are filed under Electronic.

A warmer reply to "Aldehydes and Ketones"

The release, from Orienteer, presents the two songs as a matched pair. It calls Zak Arogundade, the artist's real name, a "Swedish multidisciplinary artist" and says Whitearmor is "his longtime friend and collaborator." According to the release, "Sky Burial" answers the earlier single "with a warmer, more euphoric sound."

It draws the contrast in one line: "While Gud's production on 'Aldehydes and Ketones' conjures a cold, shimmering industrial vastness, 'Sky Burial' answers with soaring, pop-driven exaltation."

The Needle Drop describes the new song as "a direct response" to "Aldehydes and Ketones" and identifies Gud as a "Sad Boys member." The FADER, covering the first single, called Gud a "longtime friend and collaborator" too.

Ecco2k, "Sky Burial" (Mv)

Inside the "Sky Burial" video

The video is on the drain gang YouTube channel, and its credit block is short. It reads "Dir. Ecco2k," "Edit. Ecco2k" and "Cam. Cheuk Ng," then "Dop/B-cam. Zak Arogundade" and "Instru prod. Whitearmor." In other words, the artist is credited twice under two names, once as director and editor and once as director of photography and B camera.

The release sets the scene: "Echo, its protagonist, dances against tall grass beneath a solar eclipse, bathed in an orange glow that could be mistaken for a sunset. Instead, it is the halogen glare of industrial light." It describes the clip as "both a continuation and contrast" to the world of the "Aldehydes and Ketones" video, "offering a more intimate vision of Echo engulfed by the natural and manmade sublime."

Both videos were "Shot across twelve countries over six years of uninterrupted travel," the release says, calling them "a new visual chapter for Arogundade's evolving mixed-media practice." The FADER reported that Arogundade "shot, directed, and edited" the "Aldehydes and Ketones" video and plays Echo in it. In that first film, per The FADER, Echo "journeys through various half-built, almost ruinous environments." Best Fit listed "wastelands and beaches" among its locations.

The lyrics are printed in full in the video description. The song opens on "Magnetic north, all alone with antenna," and the single art shows a shirtless figure carrying a TV antenna through fog and orange light. The title line comes in the second couplet: "Send them up so high, sky burial / Feathers of a dove still stuck in the ceiling fan." Later the song turns to "Don't want to live forever / Want to be free and become whole."

The first solo songs since PXE

The release says the two singles "mark the first official new solo songs" since his PXE EP and his debut album E, from 2019. Apple dates PXE to March 31, 2021.

He kept working with others in between. Apple lists Crest, a joint album with Bladee, from March 18, 2022, and "Expression On Your Face" with Mechatok and Bladee from June 12, 2025. The Line of Best Fit also listed "MAKKA" with fakemink and Mechatok among those collaborations.

The release traces a line through the solo work, "from the introspective coming-of-age self-portrait of E, through PXE's existential longing to transcend personhood, to, in this latest work, an embrace of the vast world beyond the self."

Drain Gang and the South America dates

Ecco2k is part of the Swedish collective Drain Gang "alongside Bladee, Thaiboy Digital, and Whitearmor," the release says, which credits him with helping found "one of the most influential musical and subcultural movements of the past decade." The FADER said Drain Gang "not only popularized a specific sound but also an extremely specific aesthetic."

The release ends with a promise: "Stand by for more transmissions from Ecco2k." For now, The Needle Drop lists two South American festival dates: Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires on November 28, 2026, and Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo on December 6, 2026.
