Dethwish Ruby: The New Album, Ruby's Revenge Tour and a Hamden Release Show

What's out

Dethwish, the Connecticut project of Shawn Fortier, released RUBY on October 31, 2026. Spotify and Apple Music both date it that day, and Apple's copyright line reads "℗ 2026 Dethwish." It runs 11 songs.

It's his second album of the year. The Disappearing Act came out March 26, and Atom Splitter PR's release calls RUBY "essentially an extension" of it. The same release pitches him as "a 26-year-old nu-metal x hyperpunk artist."

In the release, he sums it up in one line: "Ruby is an album about losing a friend, yourself, and a girl from New Jersey on the early internet."

  10. Ruby Marchetti VS. The State of New Jersey

Titles and guests follow Spotify. The release omits the guests.

"One of Us is the Killer" was the starting point. "Honestly, it was the first song I had written for the album. I think it's no secret at this point that the project is conceptual," he told No Echo. In a literal sense, he said, the song is "about the main character of the story realizing what she's done and the feeling of regret." He called Montclair "some of my oldest friends in the hardcore scene."

Ruby's Revenge Tour dates

These are the dates still ahead, per the release.

The run ends at home. The Space Ballroom listing bills November 28 as the Ruby album release show, with Remedies, Film & Gender, AFK and 7 Minutes In Heaven. Tickets link from dethwish.online.

My read

He told No Echo his all-time favorites include My Chemical Romance, Nine Inch Nails, 100 Gecs and Skrillex, and a concept record built from that mix is worth a look. But a sequel seven months after the original has to show it needed to exist. For more from that corner of rock, read KAZI on My Chemical Romance's "Prelude to The End" and Crown The Empire's "violet".

Verdict: RUBY arrives with a story, a guest list and a tour to back it, and the record still has to prove it's more than chapter two.
