cieratherapper's "Rhinestones and Camo" Brings Grit and Glamour Out of Kentucky
cieratherapper put out "Rhinestones and Camo" on Oct. 30, the new single from the Kentucky rapper behind last year's Trappalachia. Per RCA's release, the song "serves as an ode to Ciera's Kentucky roots and the Appalachian community that helped shape her into the woman she is today."
The title is the whole argument, and I like that she makes it out loud. "To me, rhinestones and camo aren't opposites," she says in the release. "They're proof that you can be rough around the edges and still shine." That's a rising artist telling you exactly how to take her, and in my view she has earned the confidence.
What she says the song is about
RCA Records sent out the announcement, and her own explanation in it is the best way in. On Apple Music, the ℗ line reads 2026 Music The Label Einnor LLC.
"'Rhinestones & Camo' is about making something beautiful out of where you come from, knowing who you are, and knowing what you bring to the table," she says. "It's that mix of grit and glamour." Then the line I keep rereading: "I came from humble beginnings, but that doesn't mean I have to be humble about how far I've come."
Plenty of rappers say where they're from. Fewer tell you, in one sentence, that they plan to be proud of the place and loud about the climb at the same time.

Morehead, Trappalachia and the singles before it
Per RCA's release, cieratherapper hails from Morehead, Kentucky. Her label bio says her authenticity is "largely rooted in her upbringing in a trailer park in her hometown," and that she started writing songs at eleven. RCA's release describes her sound as "a unique blend of Kentucky bluegrass, new age country, and trap music," and lists her influences as "Jelly Roll, Eminem, Bluegrass, and Cardi B." I can't think of a better four-word map of where she's trying to stand.
Trappalachia arrived Nov. 14, 2025: 12 songs in about 33 minutes, per Apple Music. The release calls it "a bold, genre-blending statement" and points to "a remix collaboration with That Mexican OT," the "Country Outta Me Remix." That Mexican OT also turns up on Z-Ro's Forever King, part of our Houston rap releases of 2026 list.
Two of the album's singles came out months earlier. "Brunette" arrived in March 2025, and her label bio says it is "dedicated to women with brunette hair while challenging traditional beauty standards in the country music community." "Country Outta Me" followed on July 8, 2025. In the release, she sums up the mission: "I want people to see the country community in a different aspect, from the women to the parties, and the everyday struggles."
That last part is why I'm writing about her. The women come first in that sentence, and I read that order as deliberate.

The hick-hop line she walks into
In 2004, NPR's Howard Berkes reported from the Appalshop arts center in Whitesburg, Ky., where Amelia Kirby and Nick Szuberla "came up with the idea to combine mountain music with hip-hop." NPR wrote that the result was being called "hick-hop" or "hill-hop," and pointed to Appalshop's weekly "Holler 2 the Hood" radio show.
In 2024, WV Public Broadcasting's Mason Adams wrote about No Options: Hip-Hop in Appalachia, a 24-track compilation from Appalshop's June Appal Recordings. One of its artists, Monstalung, put it plainly: "we just made sure we talked about Appalachian living. We talked about trailer parks, hollers, you know."
On the country rap side, Rolling Stone's David Peisner wrote in 2018 that "Country rap's origins can be traced pretty clearly to one guy: Bubba Sparxxx." His 2003 album Deliverance, Peisner wrote, "mixed acoustic guitars, bluesy harmonica, bits of live fiddle and Timbaland's elastic beats with Sparxxx's tales of rural Georgia."
Monstalung's trailer parks sit right next to cieratherapper's label bio and the camo in her title. What she brings, in my opinion, is the other half of the title: the rhinestones. Naming Cardi B next to bluegrass tells you she wants the glamour in the room too.
What I'd watch next
She has kept a steady pace: "No Grace" came out May 22, 2026, per Apple Music, and now this. What I want to see is whether "Rhinestones and Camo" becomes the front door to a bigger project, because the idea in the title is big enough to carry one.
When I put together KAZI's 2027 Artists to Watch, the list ran from North Texas to Dublin and never stopped in Kentucky. That gap is on me.
