Bo Staloch has released Too Big, Too Big, an eight-song EP produced by Brad Cook and recorded at Cook's Puff City home studio in Durham, North Carolina. The project arrived November 6 through Capitol Records.

The Austin-born, Nashville-based songwriter builds the EP around the unsettled transition into adulthood. Its songs explore young love, changing friendships and the effort to remain hopeful while moving into a new stage of life.

"I wrote these songs as a 20-year-old, learning so much about love and loss and friendship and brotherhood," Staloch says in the release. "All of these growing-up events accumulated and became Too Big, Too Big, which tells about that learning experience."

A close-knit studio band

Cook's production brings together a group of players whose backgrounds span several corners of independent music. The sessions included Megafaun's Phil Cook on keys, Twin Peaks guitarist Colin Croom, Hippo Campus guitarist Nathan Stocker, Bon Iver drummer Matt McCaughan and Mipso violinist Libby Rodenbough. Brad Cook also contributed bass and synth.

The resulting project moves between alt-folk, baroque pop and indie rock. Previously released songs include "Hers," "From A Different Age" and "I Won't Be There Waiting For You." The full EP also introduces "Dreams," with a live session filmed in Austin accompanying the release.

Staloch describes making the record as a process of talking through the changes collected in its songs. "I've fallen into myself a little bit more, and I feel more comfortable with who I am, more aligned with who I want to be," he says in the announcement.

A headline tour follows

The EP precedes Staloch's 2027 Too Big, Too Big North American tour. The announced run begins February 3 in Nashville and ends March 27 in Houston, with stops including New York, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Now 21, Staloch follows his 2025 EP The Garden with a larger studio ensemble while keeping the subject matter personal. Too Big, Too Big is available through the official release link.
