Bleech 9:3 Cover The Cure's "Lullaby" Ahead of Debut Album Bleed
Bleech 9:3 shared a cover of The Cure's "Lullaby" on Oct. 30, out via Interscope Records, per the release. "Coinciding with Halloween weekend, the new cover of 'Lullaby' is tenebrous, stark, and unmistakably Bleech 9:3," the release says.
A Cure cover the day before Halloween is good timing. Picking "Lullaby," of all their songs, is a choice I respect.
Why they made it
The band explain it in their own words. "'Lullaby' brings fear to life through song in a way that has been hugely influential for us," they say in the release. "As we headed into the writing process for Bleed, recreating it in our own style helped us explore new sonic directions. We wanted to pay homage to both the song and the band at this point in our journey."
Apple Music lists the single as a Polydor Records release, with "Tourniquet" as its second track.

What came before
The cover follows "Tourniquet," which the release calls "the band's biggest single to date." It premiered as Jack Saunders' Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1, per the release, and was produced by Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg) and mixed by Rich Costey (Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys). The release calls it "another significant hint" toward their forthcoming debut album, Bleed. No date for the album is given.
Bleech 9:3 are "Dublin-born and now based in London," per their label bio: Barry Quinlan and Sam Duffy on guitar and vocals, James Quinlan on bass and Luke O'Neill on drums. The bio names Radiohead, Deftones and Nirvana as inspirations, "alongside contemporary influences including Fontaines D.C. and Sleep Token." We put them on our list of KAZI's 2027 Artists to Watch on Oct. 29, and this cover only makes that pick feel safer to me.
The tour
Per the release, their headline tour starts in November and "is entirely sold out." The release's dates open with Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik on Nov. 7, then run from Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach on Nov. 27 to Cork's Cyprus Ave on Dec. 17, including London's Electric Ballroom on Dec. 1.
In 2027, they play two U.S. shows that the release says "sold out within minutes":
- January 21, 2027: New York, Mercury Lounge
- February 3, 2027: Los Angeles, The Echo
The release also lists Laneway festival dates in February and a 2027 UK run that includes London's O2 Kentish Town Forum on May 12.
