Ally Salort Releases Her Rendition of "Last Christmas"
Ally Salort released her rendition of "Last Christmas" on Oct. 30, out now via Disruptor Records/RCA Records. RCA's release calls the song a "timeless holiday classic" and says she puts "her own soulful, stripped-down spin on the beloved track."
For me, holiday season officially starts with the first new Christmas cover, and in 2026 one arrived the day before Halloween. I'm not mad about it.
Her take on a holiday standard
Per the release, the cover "showcases a new side of her artistry, delivering a soulful and intimate interpretation of the holiday favorite while maintaining the emotional honesty that has become her trademark." Apple Music lists the single under a Disruptor Records/RCA Records ℗ line, licensed from Salort LLC.
The release frames it as a year-end gift. She is "closing out the year with a festive new release," it says, as she "wraps up a year of touring and new releases." It also tells fans to "stay tuned for more music, live shows, and announcements in the months ahead."

Where Ally Salort comes from
RCA describes her as a "New Jersey native and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter." Per her label bio, she grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, and asked for voice lessons at seven "after watching her older brother perform." At 14 she was flown to Los Angeles "as a finalist in a national talent search." A year later she started posting covers on YouTube, and later found "her stride on TikTok."
The bio names Fiona Apple and Ariana Grande as influences, citing "the emotional depth of Fiona Apple and the vocal finesse of Ariana Grande."
She is 23, per the bio, with two EPs out. Change of Plans, her debut, is dated July 18, 2025 on Apple Music. Per the release, it "weaves together stories of heartbreak, uncertainty, clarity, and growth." Her 2026 EP Isn't it sweeter? "builds on that emotional foundation with a greater boldness, embracing the bittersweet."
For an artist whose story starts with YouTube covers, putting out a cover feels like a fitting way to end the year, at least to me.
On tour with Lexi Jayde
