Baltimore born rapper Lane Brodie is full of energy and confidence. His new visual for “Crank” puts that on full display through Chinatown, DC and provides a glimpse of some of his live work at BLISS. Having branched out to Ohio at the age of 19, seeing him return home is comforting. He wants to take over where it all began for him.
The track itself is electrifying. Heavy bass and slicing vocals make it a full experience. Bluevisionz handled the direction here, allowing Brodie to be the center of attention yet simultaneously letting us in on the DMV nightlife. Music is his one priority and it’s a result of his life experiences.
In his words, he’s creating “a sound that is genuine yet energetic. One that could be sad but optimistic. Something that was pop but with my slang and my personal stories, feelings, emotions, and whatever.” In 2018, Brodie teamed up with Alex Micheal and producer BJR to create masterpiece project Pop Slang in under a week. 2019 could be the true breakout.
Check out “Crank” and as always, stay tuned.
