Green with experience but talented
AdELA has teamed up with Producer Ms Madli and artist Alonda Rich on an all female led single “My Green.” The song was written and recorded in the renowned IMI Studios in pre-pandemic New York.
Created a year ago, during an all-female songwriting camp, “My Green” delivers and empowering female anthem with a fierce energy. “My Green” challenges complacency in an unapologetic manner and motivates women to get to the bag.
“In the music industry, women are often overlooked when it comes to the business side of things,” says the rapper. “In addition, despite a highly competitive environment we are always expected to remain co-operative and pleasant. This track serves as a reminder that we mean business, our time is money, and we are coming for the bag.”
“My Green” features a trap-hop instrumental paired with AdELA’s laid back vocals, bossy lyrics; and Alonda’s velvety adlibs. Producer Ms Madli was immediately drawn to the sound and knew it would be a perfect fit for AdELA.
AdELA solidifies herself as a boss in her all-new “My Green” visual. The music video showcases AdELA’s DIY sensibilities as she shot and directed the video herself; but not only that, she single-handedly styled herself for the video as well.
In the video, AdELA calmly flexes her “green” while confidently rapping to the camera; and encouraging other women to do the same.
A video as well!
The video features AdELA in four different outfits showcasing her “green;” the first look we’re introduced to is a gold metallic dress with a fur coat. The second look is a Louis Vuitton ensemble which she flaunts in front of Louis V luggage as she raps “The only way I like my green is in my bag,” emphasizing her drive and clear cut focus.
In addition to the Louis, AdELA also talks Gucci when she raps. “Gucci hoodie with the logo” in front of a Gucci backdrop; showing us more of what she spends her “green” on.
The last two looks are all-black numbers with gold accents, Gucci and gold chains showing us a different side of AdELA; but nevertheless sending the same message about getting to the bag and being proud of it.
Transparency and power make “My Green” a nice track to keep in rotation.
