A master of stylish smack talk and colorful slang, Drakeo The Ruler re-affirmed his status as one of L.A.’s best rappers with an album recorded from prison.
Finally being able to build his empire and crash his whips without interference from a corrupt legal system, Drakeo shares “Fights Don’t Matter.” More than a simple track, it’s a milestone in Drakeo’s career.
This is his first song and video since his release from prison last week. Produced by Thank You Fizzle and Al B Smoove, the single finds Drakeo rhyming in his trademark sneer and visceral wordplay. The Lil Gucci-directed video finds him in a celebratory mood. The 26 year old emcee counts cash in L.A. with his crew of closest friends; including members of the Stinc Team and producer JoogSzn.
A couple of years ago Drakeo The Ruler nonchalant flow caught my attention. He glides on beats effortlessly and it’s good to see him back in his element. With his freedom back, I hope he continues to put out quality music.
“Fights Don’t Matter” is the first taste of We Know The Truth, Drakeo’s first post-prison EP, coming very soon. For now, you can tune into the official visual for “Fights Don’t matter” on YouTube.
