“I’m inspired by everything [really] .. art .. love.. music [of course] .. my family/friends … [just] LIFE! As a creative we thrive off life to stay inspired and stay the course!“
- Who are your GOATS of journalism? Name 3.
“Well number one [for me] is Angie Martinez .. I love her authenticity and how much love and respect she’s earned from the industry. And of course being a pioneer for women [journalism] within Hip-Hop.
Second would be Connie Chung. Another pioneer for us women in the media world, being one of the first anchors.. and she always did it with such style and grace.
And last but not least! Angela Yee. Entrepreneur. Role model. Business woman. I actually saw her recently at ‘Maino Day’ in Brooklyn.. great conversation. She’s such a genuine, authentic soul.”
- You’ve interviewed many people of stature, from the hottest rappers to celebrities, but who would you say is your dream interview?
“Great question. I have 3 actually [haha]. Tim Burton .. Mariah Carey .. and Spike Lee. Legendary list right there.”
- If you were to pick one, who has been your favorite interview to date?
“Sean Paul for sure! His energy and everything was amazing!”
- Do you feel [media] journalism is in a good space right now (2024)?
“Yes, I do think it is. It’s in a beautiful space actually. In today’s world, we can create what we want, and control what we create. There’s more outlets, artists, and resources than there has ever been before. The stories and memories we can share and highlight are endless!”
