As if a cover art featuring WWE legends The Undertaker and Kane doing battle in an inferno match isn’t enough to show you the mood here, Atlanta’s own Renegade Rarri titled this new single “Rage.” Here he combines pensiveness, insecurity, motivation and a little bit of trash talk.
His low voice, almost a whisper, along with the slow tempo’d drums and hi-hats remind me of a Grand Theft Auto stealth mission. He’s driving slowly, masked up, keeping eyes on his prey in the rap game. He’s also very aware of his enemies and the demons in life. Through it all, he’s determined to be the best. Failure is something Rarri will embrace along the way if it means perpetual success.
His flow is almost conversational, allowing each bar enough time to breathe before he’s right back at it. This, along with his video for “Spin” show that he doesn’t need gimmicks and embellishments to get his point across. Tap into “Rage” and avoid the chokeslam.
