nöel has no shame in new single

As if Summer Walker didn’t smoke “Girls Need Love” all on her own, and then Drake adding his own verse to encourage men to submit to women in the bedroom wasn’t groundbreaking enough….here comes nöel, back at it again with hypnotic vocals and a moving message to match. “3 am in la” is his take on Summer’s growing hit, and it didn’t disappoint.

He’s talking about naughty talk on the phone, missing his lover and contemplating everything he wants to do. Unfortunately, it’s been a while and the time zone difference doesn’t help when he’s in his bag at 3AM. “It’s 3AM in LA right now, it’s early in the morning for you, I swear I don’t forget it, I never really let myself.”

The thing about nöel that I love is he packs these powerful, vulnerable messages into short cuts usually under three minutes. He’s continually mastering brevity but making each second count. I discovered him back in 2018, with singles “vibrations” and “call me.”

So far this year we’ve gotten “Starlust,” but it’s always nice to see artists remix popular songs already out. This’ll be on repeat until I get something new. Maybe it’ll be the same for you. Check out “3 am in la.”
