Migos Are “Straightenin” The Game With Their Return

The Migos return to bring back culture to the game …

Atlanta’s finest trio, The Migos return with their first single of the new year while teasing their long-awaited album. Their track “Straightenin” arrives at midnight on May 14th accompanied by a Keemotion-directed visual.

The hypnotic standalone single is lifted from the group’s long-awaited Culture III LP. The trendy track was first announced on the group’s social media accounts with the hashtag #Culture3. To no surprise, implying that it will be featured on their next album, Culture III.

Bringing The Culture Back

Migos — made up of Takeoff, Offset, and Quavo, are back in their collective pocket on this track. They deliver an anthemic and easily catchy rap song just in time for outside to really open up. As a result, the single arrived with a music video which finds Migos surrounded by their friends and luxury cars.

Turn a pandemic into a bandemic / You know that’s the shit that we on,” Quavo raps, clutching bundles of cash.

The flawless blend of clever rhymes and exotic adlibs from Quality Control’s rap trio is on full display here. Throughout “Straightenin,” each member’s distinct personality is showcased. Quavo delivers the glowing charisma, while Takeoff gives the creative bars, and Offset offers his unmistakable cool.

The Pandemic With Migos

While this is the first time we’ve heard from the group as a whole in 2021, each Migos member had a busy year in 2020. First, Justin Bieber recruited Quavo for his hit single “Intentions.” The song, which is from Bieber’s album Changes, hit No. 5 on the charts and has been certified three times platinum. The rapper was also enlisted for DaBaby’s most recent album, Blame It On Baby, where the two traded rhymes on the track “Pick Up.”

In 2020, Offset played a key role in YBN Nahmir’s “2 Seater” alongside G-Eazy. Meanwhile, Takeoff, Migos’ third member, spent 2020 releasing tracks with YRN Lingo, such as “All Time High.” As well as joining forces with Quavo and Rich The Kid for “Too Blessed”.

‘Culture III’ Loading ….

Earlier this year, Migos released a lengthy teaser introducing their upcoming album, Culture III as the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Culture II‘. After being recorded last year, the album entered the mixing stage in April 2021, according to a tweet from Quavo.

We [have] been having time to bond with each other and time to spend [apart], because our solo careers been allowing us to do different things…We [have] got relationships, and we [are] growing.” Quavo said in January’s announcement trailer.

Due to the pandemic, the album had initially been postponed from its intended release date last year. Then, Quavo earlier stated that ‘Culture III‘ will be released between February and March, yet no album was released. At this point, anticipation is high!

What’s Next?

On June 11th the QC rap group is set to straighten the game with their Cutlure III release. This exciting news follows once the trio dropped “Straightenin,” their first solo cut of 2021 and a single for the album.
