Merlaku Ra and Free P Unite For New Single: ‘ALIENS!’

Merlaku Ra, the mystifying South Carolina native, linked with versatile artist Free P for their new single, ‘Aliens!’ Both signed to LA based management company The He(A)rd, the two have been collaborating frequently for the past year. Both hailing from The South, the vocal pairing between the two combined with ease. Currently, ‘Aliens!’ is the first collaborative release between the two, but it might be a safe hypothesis to anticipate more in the near future. Equally as captivating as the song itself, designer Damien Jelaine crafted the cover art that reminds the eye of a nostalgic movie placard.

In case you’re out of the loop, Free P – the Clarksville, TN native – has had quite the career in music. Establishing himself as one of the premier talents to come out of the state of Tennessee, Free P has had quite the tenure despite being relatively young. Producing hits for friends like Isaiah Rashad and YGTUT cemented his legacy behind the boards, but his knack for rapping is why he’s standing out now. In fact, the track wasn’t even produced by Free, it was Merlaku Ra who showcased his own flair with production. “Aliens!” is tangible proof.

What they fail to mention / how we manifested / what we manifested / I got many blessings.”Merlaku Ra (Verse 2)

Merlaku wasted no time in establishing the energy of the track. Sonically celestial, the production also features aggressive, but thoughtful lines from both artists. Free-P’s high octane hook keeps the fierce energy intact till the final second. The manifestation of something larger than life is oozing from The He(A)rd. Alongside artists like Sylvan LaCue, ‘Aliens!’ feels as if it’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’d say one would be smart to stay in the loop with the talented group.
