Max Joy is an elite fast-rising creative. His highly-anticipated debut single “Yesterday” has finally arrived. The new record is produced by Jammy Beatz and released/distributed through ‘Mecha Music Group.’ “Yesterday” comes fresh off the heels of February, and is the first foray into the alternative pop/hip-hop world from newcomer Max Joy. It also serves as the first entry in Mecha Music’s 2021 release calendar.
“Yesterday” calls on tropes from breakup songs, reminiscent of Juice WRLD and Kid Laroi. It delivered and sung with an adolescent yet, mature exuberance. On the track, Max Joy contemplates a failed relationship and bargains for what might have been, all while daydreaming about better memories tomorrow has in store.
Max’s bright but wistful vocals cut through a gliding, spacey guitar anda booming 808.That create a cozy, atmospheric pocket. A catchy bop made for TikTok viral clips, the track is a notch in the belt for 15-year old Joy, whose budding potential as a pop/hip-hop singer is limitless.
An accompanying music video, directed by Eyeless Agency is also set to arrive soon. For now, stream the official audio below and/or on your DSP of choice. Be sure to stay tuned for more upcoming releases from Max Joy as well.
